4 signs that you should seriously consider divorce

Making the decision to divorce does not come easy for anyone. In fact, your reasons for staying together might actually outnumber your reasons for wanting to separate. However, even just one good reason to divorce might outweigh all those reasons for staying in an unhappy or unhealthy relationship. In addition, there are various challenges you will have to face, such as what to do with your Augusta house,

Staying in a bad marriage will have far worse consequences than ending it and moving on. If you are experiencing any of the following situations in your marriage, it might be one of several signs that you should divorce.

More bad than good

According to psychologists, there is a magic ratio between good and bad interactions to maintain a happy marriage. If you have five positive interactions for every one that is bad, then you are probably in a good place in your relationship. However, if that ratio begins to shift and the negative interactions start to outnumber the good interactions, it might be time to divorce.

Severe arguments

The severity of your arguments also plays a role in the health of your marriage. If every argument you have is turning into a severe, abusive or hurtful fight, then it is probably time to call it quits. Even if you feel like you and your husband do not fight very often, if the arguments get violent, consider this as a sign that you should file for divorce.

Counseling doesn't work

When couples begin to experience marital strife, they often seek counseling to get things back on track. If you and your spouse have attempted counseling but it did not work, you most likely need to take the next step and end the relationship.

Cheating

If you or your husband has stepped outside of the marriage and started another relationship, then divorce may be likely. While some couples can heal from such betrayals and put their relationship back together, many cannot.

If any of the above circumstances apply to your marriage, it it could be time for you to seriously consider divorce. The sooner you make the decision, the sooner you can start moving forward and planning for your new life.
