Motorcyclists are often in grave danger when they enter the roadways. Often, motorcycle accidents in Georgia can cause serious injuries that can be life-threatening. Recently, a man was injured in a motorcycle crash in Lafayette.
The accident happened on a recent Sunday evening and involved a sedan and a motorcycle. Upon a preliminary investigation, police say that a motorcyclist was headed in the southbound direction on a major highway when the driver of a sedan turned out of a driveway in front of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was incapable of stopping and collided with the sedan.
Medics transported the motorcyclist to the hospital for treatment, but the exact details and nature of his condition had not been reported. Authorities charged the driver of the sedan for not yielding to traffic. The driver of the sedan and two other occupants in the vehicle were not harmed.
Motorcycle accidents are terrifying experiences for victims who are injured. Even though the exact nature of the motorcyclist's condition was not released, it is likely that he suffered a great deal of pain and suffering. The motorcyclist retains the right to pursue legal action by filing a personal injury claim against the driver of the sedan to recover compensation. The civil court system in Georgia typically adjudicates these types of claims based upon evidence of negligence, and the citation against the other driver could be substantial enough. The civil process can be overwhelming for most individuals, and an experienced personal injury attorney can help injured victims with their cases.
