Many Georgia roads are usually busy with distracted drivers, particularly during the holiday season. The car accidents that sometimes result can cause injuries to victims involved. In one incident, a young girl was seriously injured in a crash.
The crash happened on a recent Sunday evening. Authorities say that the driver of a southbound pickup truck tried to cross to access another road. In doing so, the driver reportedly failed to yield to a sedan. The driver of the sedan collided with the pickup truck, hitting the passenger side. The impact caused the sedan to strike a guardrail and the pickup truck to roll over.
The young girl, said to be just 8 years old, was a passenger in the sedan. Medics arranged to fly her to a children's hospital in Tennessee. There were four other occupants in the sedan who were taken to Floyd Medical, though the nature and extent of their injuries was not reported. The occupants in the pickup truck were also taken to the same medical facility with unspecified injuries.
Victims of Georgia car accidents like this one often suffer from a significant amount of injuries that require major treatment. The girl's injuries may be permanent and cause her to lose enjoyment in life. Parents in similar circumstances have often sought professional assistance to pursue claims for financial relief against parties deemed responsible. Others who were injured may also wish to pursue personal injury claims to seek recovery of monetary damages. An experienced personal injury attorney can help in identifying and preserving important evidence for presentation in civil court in order to establish liability by a preponderance of the evidence.
