A 9-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after being involved in a car accident. The boy was injured in one of the four car accidents that occurred on Interstate 75. Georgia authorities indicate that traffic was backed up for miles.
The four car accidents happened in Cook County on a recent Friday. According to reports, the first accident involved two tractor-trailers, and one of the trailers caught on fire. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries, and due to this accident, another crash resulted. The second accident involved three vehicles, one of which was carrying the 9-year-old child. The child was airlifted to the hospital, and the exact details of his condition are not known.
While crews were cleaning up the accident scene, a woman claimed that she was involved in a hit-and-run, but she was not injured. A short time later, a motorcycle was involved in a fourth accident. Reportedly, the driver of the motorcycle crashed into the back of a semi that was pulling a trailer. The motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital while his passenger was transported to Tift County Regional.
Due to the car accidents, four people were injured. It's not known who was responsible for the accident that caused the boy to be injured. The boy's family may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim in a Georgia civil courtroom to cover medical expenses and other financial burdens related to the crash. A successful claim must be based upon evidence of negligence by another party to the collision, and if properly documented, financial relief may be awarded to cover the expenses and other damages related to the boy's injuries.
